This checklist is for tax year 2026. Pick the states and the income you had. The list says “if you received one.” It does not ask you to send a passport, I-20, or tax form on this page.

Should I upload my W-2 here?
No. This page only builds a list. Upload happens after you sign in, in the secure filing flow.
I never received a 1099. Do I still need it?
Only if the payer issued one. Ask the bank, school, employer, or broker. Marking a form unavailable leaves the checklist incomplete rather than pretending it is required.
I had no job. Is the list empty?
It should still mention Form 8843 if you are a student or exchange visitor. No income does not automatically mean no filing.
